Boutique Jacob Inc. and its affiliates (collectively "JACOB", "we" or "our") are committed to preserving and safeguarding your right to privacy. As part of this commitment, we have prepared this Privacy and Security Statement to let you know about the manner in which we collect, use, disclose and otherwise manage the personal information you entrust to us at any of our retail store locations (the "Stores") or through our website located at www.jacob.ca (the "Site").

COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may collect personal information that you provide us when you:

Purchase or order merchandise at one of our Stores or through our Site;
Purchase a gift card at one of our Stores or through our Site;
Return or exchange products at one of our Stores;

SHOPPING AT JACOB
When you purchase products at one of our Stores, you can do so anonymously by paying with cash. If you use a credit or debit card for any of your in-Store purchases, we will collect your credit or debit card information to process your purchase. If you purchase products on our Site, we will collect your credit information and address for processing and shipping. When you return previously purchased merchandise and request a refund or exchange, you may be asked to give your name, address and phone number. We collect this information for fraud prevention and loss prevention purposes. In all cases, we will not divulge nor communicate any of such information to any other third party without your express consent.

Should you request a sales tax exemption by virtue of the laws in force in the province you are shopping in, we will be under the obligation of gathering all the information required by law in order to verify your eligibility. If we do so, we will not divulge nor communicate any such information to any other third party without your express consent, except as otherwise required to process your exemption.

ONLINE REGISTRATION/SUBSCRIPTION
You do not have to register to browse our Site, though you will need to identify yourself to effect a purchase through our Site. You may register as a member to, for example, receive our newsletter and special promotions by e-mail. If you register as a member, you will be asked for your name and your e-mail address so that we may process your registration. You may also be asked to voluntarily provide your day and month of birth so that we may provide you with special promotions on your birthday. If you do so, we will not divulge nor communicate any such information to any other third party without your express consent.

CUSTOMER SERVICE
When you call one of our customer service representatives, you may be asked for information that identifies you along with additional personal information we need to help us promptly answer your question, such as your name and address and a phone number where we might contact you. We may retain this information to assist you in the future but, even so, we will not divulge nor communicate any of such information to any other third party without your express consent.

CONTESTS, SWEEPSTAKES OR SURVEYS
When you participate in a survey or enter a contest or sweepstake at a Store or on our Site, we may collect information such as your name, address, phone number and e-mail address. We use this information to administer your participation in a contest or sweepstakes. At the time you are entering a contest or sweepstakes, or completing a survey, we may ask your permission to send you future marketing information from JACOB.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
If you are seeking employment with JACOB, we ask that you complete an application on our Site. You will be requested to provide your resume, your contact information and optional questions relevant to your application. We will use such information solely for the purposes of processing your application and we will not divulge nor communicate any of such information to any other third party otherwise than as may be required to assess or evaluate your application.

WEBSITE INFORMATION
We collect the IP (Internet protocol) addresses of all visitors to our Site and other related information such as page requests, browser type, operating system and average time spent on our Site. We use this information to monitor and improve our Site.

Our Site uses a technology called "cookies". If your purchases are being shipped to you, we will share your shipping information on a confidential basis with our delivery service providers (Canada Post, or other delivery companies we or you select). Our delivery service providers are prohibited from using your personal information for any purpose other than making the delivery.

SALE OF BUSINESS
JACOB reserves the right to transfer any information we have about you in the event we sell or transfer all or a portion of our business or assets to a third party acquirer.

SECURE SHOPPING
When you place orders on our Site, all of your order information, including your card number and delivery address, is transmitted through the Internet using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. SSL technology causes your browser to encrypt your order information before transmitting it to our secure server. SSL technology, an industry standard, is designed to prevent someone other than operators of our Site from capturing and viewing your personal information.
